Hard to find a good version of this lovely song on YouTube. Joni James’ voice is a little sweet for my taste, but for those of us who liked Remington Steele, this video is fun. Pierce Brosnan never looked bad a day in his life, I suspect. But I used to wonder about those pursed-lip kisses of his. Perhaps the explanation is a less-than-affectionate relationship between the two actors.
This one on the other hand, is probably the worst professional treatment of the song I’ve ever heard. Sorry, Deloney, but Bryan Ferry bombs out here. I hate the horns, the self-impressed girl, the whole bit. And I think the arrangement uses the wrong chords. In fact, I know it does.
